Event Overview:

Dance is the language of life, a timeless expression of art and emotion. Thirkan '24 is back, bigger and better, as one of the flagship events of Xpressions, XIMB! Thirkan Solo is your chance to showcase breathtaking solo dance performances and choreography skills through any dance form of your choice. Are you ready to claim the spotlight?

General Instructions

• This is a two-round event:

  • Round 1: Online Submission Round

  • Round 2: The Grand Finale (Offline)

• Participants must submit a dance performance video as per the guidelines to qualify for the final round.

• The final round will be conducted offline at the XIMB campus during Xpressions.

• All participants must upload a valid college ID or proof of admission during registration.

• Performance tracks must be submitted in a pen drive before the final event.

• The use of inflammable objects, water, or heavy props on stage is strictly prohibited.

• Obscenity or inappropriate content will lead to immediate disqualification.

• The judge’s decision is final and binding on all participants.

• Registration Start Date: 24th December 2024

• Last Date for Registration: 13th January 2025

• Last Date for Video Submission: 13th January 2025

• Preliminary Round Results: 14th January 2025

• Final Round Date: 17th January 2025

Round Details

Round 1: Online Submission Round

• Submission Requirements:

  • Participants must submit a 1 to 3-minute video showcasing their best dance moves.

  • Video submissions should follow this naming format: Thirkansolo_Name_Institute_Round 1

  • A submission form link will be provided via email.

• Judging Parameters:

  • Creativity and uniqueness

  • Choreography

  • Overall impact

• Selection Process:

  • Top participants will qualify for Round 2 based on their video performances.

  • Results will be shared via email.

Round 2: The Grand Finale

• Format: Offline

• Time Limit: 4 minutes per participant

• Judging Parameters:

  • Choreography: Movements, transitions, and stage presence.

  • Creativity & Wow Factor: How captivating and unique the performance is.

  • Costumes & Props: Visual appeal and enhancement of the performance.

  • Expressions: Emotional connection and delivery.

  • Overall Presentation: How the performance ties everything together.

Rules for Participation

• Participants can choose any dance form—no restrictions!

• Video submissions for Round 1 must adhere to the time limit and naming convention.

• All shortlisted participants will receive additional instructions for the final round via email.

• Only college students are eligible, and cross-college teams/entries are not allowed.
