Get ready for a thrilling two-round rap event! Round 1 features live stage performances, and Round 2 brings the top performers into a fierce 1v1 freestyle battle. Judged on creativity, delivery, and stage presence. Who will emerge as the ultimate rap champion? Don't miss the beats and rhymes!

Round 1 (Stage Performance):

1. This round will be conducted live on stage in front of audience.

2. Participants must bring their track beat on pen drives or mobile phones.

3. Participants can perform a rap of their choice.

4. Own rap and track beats would receive extra points.

5. The time limit for performance is 4 minutes.

6. Negative marks will be awarded if you exceed the time limit.

7. Performances will be evaluated for results of competition.

Round 2 (Rap Battle):

1. The top performers of Round 1 would be selected for the Rap Battle.

2. This round would be a 1v1 freestyle battle, freestyle must be 100% original material and shall not infringe upon any third-party copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights.

3. Performances will be scored for result of the competition

4. The participant getting the highest score (Round 1 & 2 altogether) will be the winner.

Judging Criteria:

1. Lyrics: Quality and creativity of the words.

2. Delivery: Style, flow, clarity, and confidence in presenting the rap.

3. Originality: Uniqueness and innovation

4. Stage Presence: Confidence, charisma, and connection with the audience.

5. Freestyle Skills: Improvisation and quick wit in battle scenarios.

6. Relevance and Engagement: Audience engagement

7. Audience Reaction: Crowd response and interaction during the performance.

8. Adherence to Rules: Compliance with competition guidelines and time limits.

Rules:

1. Only Individual participation is allowed.

2. There is no age restriction on the participants.

3. Both Hindi & English languages are acceptable, but the lyrics of rap should not contain any obscenities.

4. Duration – 4 minutes, if you go over, you will be awarded negative marks, and disqualified for being over 5 minutes, so watch the clock!

5. All participants are required to be courteous and respectful towards other participating musicians

6. A sound system will be provided

7. Participants are not allowed to use the pre-recorded voice notes/materials

8. Participants can perform any song(s) of their choice, a cover, or an original composition for Round 1 but Round 2 will be a rap battle.

9. External Sync (Laptop, tablet, iPod, MIDI etc.) are not allowed during the performance

10. All participants are required to be present at least 45 minutes prior to performance time (For Round 2)

11. If participants are not present and ready to set up for performance 15 minutes before going on stage, their participation will be disqualified (For Round 2)

12. All participants agree to have their name, and performance, used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest without compensation or rights to royalties for such use

13. The entire performance must be violence-free

14. The use of any illegal substances will not be tolerated

15. If any participant is suspected to be under the influence of an illegal substance, he/she shall be disqualified, and the proper authorities will be notified

16. XIMB, Bhubaneswar reserves the right to disqualify any team promoting obscenity through their act.

17. In the case of any dispute, the organizers' decision will be final and binding.

18. The promoter and organizer of the competition are Xpressions 2023 and XIMB Bhubaneswar. The judge’s decision will be final and binding to all.

XIMB Bhubaneswar reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any entry at any time during the event if it is found that the entrant has not complied with the rules mentioned or has acted in a disruptive manner.
