Calling all electrifying bands!

Xpressions'24 is hosting Decibelz, a thrilling competition showcasing the best bands with their rich musical tapestries and soul-stirring performances.

Think your band has what it takes?

Here's how it works:

• Round 1: Get Your Video On

  
  

  • Submit a short video (under 5 minutes) of your band performing a song.

  • Stage performances are welcome!

  • Send your video to culturalcomm-oc@xim.edu.in

• Round 2: Live on Stage

  
  

  • The top 10 bands will be chosen to perform live on stage during Xpressions'24 at XIMB campus.

The Rules of the Game:

• Band Size: Get your groove on with at least 3 members.

• Video Time Limit: Keep it concise! Videos exceeding 5 minutes will be disqualified.

• Clean Lyrics: Respect the audience with appropriate song lyrics - no obscenities allowed.

• Bring Your Own Gear: Instruments and props are your responsibility. Necessary equipment can be coordinated beforehand with the contact person.

• Publicity Permission: By participating, you grant Xpressions the right to use your band name and performance recording for promotional purposes without compensation.

• Peace, Love, Music: Violence-free performances are a must.

• No Illegal Substances: Drugs are strictly prohibited. Any suspected use will lead to disqualification and involvement of authorities.

• Heads Up on Your Setlist: Inform the organizers about the song you plan to perform at least 24 hours before your stage time.

• Be Prepared: All band members must be present at least 1 hour before their performance time.

• Showtime Ready: Disqualification awaits bands where members are not present and set up 15 minutes before their slot.

• Respect the Stage: Courtesy and respect towards fellow musicians are expected from all participants.

• Sound Provided, Equipment Not: A sound system will be available, but not instruments. Bring your own!

• Keep it Yours: Band members are responsible for the security of their equipment.

• Three-Song Limit: Each band gets to play 3 songs on stage.

• Time is Money: Each band has a strict 15-minute time limit. Plan your set accordingly.

• Go Original (or Not): Bands can perform any song they choose, whether it's a cover or an original composition.

• No Backing Tracks: Pre-recorded sound material is not allowed during your performance.

• External Sync Off Limits: Laptops, tablets, iPods, MIDI devices, etc. cannot be used for synchronization during the performance.

• Judgment Call: The organizer's decision regarding the line-up is final.

• Final Verdict: The judges' decision is final and binding.
