About the event
Aaghaz is a vibrant street play competition at XIMB, offering students a platform to showcase their theatrical skills while addressing significant social issues. The event celebrates creativity and spontaneity, challenging teams to deliver compelling narratives that resonate with the audience. By combining artistic expression with social awareness, Aaghaz reflects XIMB’s commitment to fostering meaningful dialogue through performance.
Rules:
Time Limit: 15 minutes (inclusive of setup and clearance).
Team Size - 8 - 20 members.
A warning bell will sound at 13 minutes, and the final bell at 15 minutes.
A penalty of “-2 points” will be imposed for every minute over the time limit.
Language: Performances can be in English or Hindi.
Venue: Conducted in an open space; microphones are not allowed.
Teams must create their own music or sound effects through singing or instruments.
Teams must carry their own instruments and props.
Performances must uphold decorum in behavior, attire, and content. Violations will result in disqualification.
Teams must bring their own instruments and props.
The theme should avoid any form of obscenity (judges’ discretion applies). Non-compliance may lead to disqualification.
Teams bear full responsibility for risks associated with stunts or physical activities performed.
The use of abusive or inappropriate language is strictly prohibited.
Judging Criteria:
Acting: Character portrayal, expressions, voice modulation, energy, movement, and teamwork.
Writing: Script quality, theme alignment, and relevance.
Production: Choreography, effective use of music and props.
Overall Impact: General audience engagement and impression.
